Senior researcher in the Study of Religions with a focus on religions in East Asia, religion and medicine, and visual religious culture.
After graduating from the University of Marburg, Germany in the Study of Religions, Japanese Studies and Anthropology she obtained her PhD in the Study of Religions in Marburg and held post-doc positions at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, at University of Marburg and LMU Munich. From 2012 to 2016 she was professor for the Study of Religions at the University of Göttingen.
She currently holds a research position at Leipzig University. Katja Triplett has been member of the IAHR Executive Committee since 2015.
She contributed previously to two IAHR membership associations, the European Association for the Study of Religions (EASR) and the German Association (DVRW), as an elected officer for several terms.
